CURIO MENU

MENU REDESIGN - PRINT WINTER ‘22

This project was focused on creating a new menu design for an existing restaurant. I chose to design for Curio Bar and Restaurant in San Francisco. I really liked their eclectic, vintage, and kitschy vibe and thought that a lot of their items sounded really good.

The focus of this redesign was to create something new and interesting that didn't resemble the restaurant's current materials, but still felt like it fit with their brand identity and look. So, something that fit with their style, but didn't resemble what they already had.

THE CONCEPT

A moodboard for my menu redesignA moodboard for my menu redesign.

In this design, I decided to take a lot of inspiration from their current eclectic style and create a menu based on an Ouija board. I thought the occult, witchy vibe was different but harmonious enough to work with the restaurants vibe, and an Ouija board lends itself well to a menu.

I chose to create three separate menus, one for brunch, one for dinner, and one for drinks. This allowed me to split the menu content up better, and organize items in a way that flowed with my horizontal layouts. These menus would be best printed on heavy, thick cardstock that holds it's shape well without a menu book or clipboard.
