I’m a hopeless nerd - a fan of most things you can think of, and many you can’t too. I’m a graphic designer, originally from Northern Ontario, with a background in art and history.
In my work, you might see inspiration taken from everything from cheesy horror movies, to nature and the outdoors, to anime and manga, to historical art and folklore.
I’ve been creating and imagining since I could first pick up a crayon, and I love designing logos, brand packaging, print work, and typesetting.
If you think we’re a good fit, please reach out to me. I would love to make your design ideas come true!
What is Lehto Graphics? Well I'm glad you asked. When I started showing off my work, I didn't want it to just be under my name, because names can change. I wanted to be able to have a cohesive brand with a recognition factor, and I wanted it to reflect who I am. I'm not the first person to work in graphics, printing, and design in my family either, and I wanted to pay homage to that, in my own little way. Since without the people who encouraged my childhood art, who showed me that graphic design was something that even EXISTED as a job, I likely wouldn't be here doing something that I love!
My logo is a compass, something that seems rather innocuous and potentially overdone to some people, but I promise I have reasons beyond "well I think it looks cool!" A compass always points North - and to me, North means home. Even though I've left Northern Ontario, it's a place that shaped me fundamentally as a person. I love nature, the outdoors, the incredible things you can see and find, and I love sharing that love with other people. I've shared little compasses with my closest friends, I have one tattooed on me, so it only seemed fitting that this little icon that means so much to me would be what represents me best.
My current logo was an overhaul from the ground up. While at the beginning, I wasn't completely sure where I wanted to go with it, once I had my eyes on the compass concept, I knew exactly what I was doing. I enjoy when things have little meanings to them, and when it came to this logo, I managed to sneak in little meanings, all the way down to the font choice.
Cheap Pine is a font that I honestly have to hold myself back from using everywhere, because I just really enjoy it. Being able to use a font who's name also evokes nature to me is just a fun little easter egg that - while not everyone will know just looking at the logo - makes a little story I get to tell.
